The Delfino Chair was designed by Erberto Carboni in 1954. Carboni started his studies as an architect in 1921, but was also interested in graphics and industrial design. Along with designing this chair in 1954 for Arflex, from 1953 to 1960 he worked for Bertolli, designing a whole series of magazine advertisements and posters, bringing a rigorous modernism into his works. The design of Carboni’s 1950´s Delfino Chair is inspired by the Italian dictum “new ways of living require new design solutions”. Sculptural armrests connected with brass rivets distinguish this uncommon chair.
