Peacock JH-550 1947 by Hans J Wegner. The Peacock chair was given its nickname by Finn Juhl. It has a slatted back rest which fans out to resemble a peacock tail, with flat sections of slats that look like the eyes of a peacock feather. This chair was inspired by the traditional Windsor chair. The ”Peacock Chair” was first introduced in 1947 and manufactured for a very long time by Johannes Hansen, but was later picked up and resumed by PP Møbler in 1992, as Wegner had upgraded the basic design in the late 1980#8217;s.
