Samsas (Togetherness) is a true Carl Malmsten classic, and was designed as part of a group. There are 3 different sofas to combine with an armchair. The design originates from a model from 1923, when Carl Malmsten worked with furniture for the Stockholm Concert Hall.
Malmsten´s design style was routed in his Swedish background and traditions – he worked a lot with the blond woods that are now so closely associated with Scandinavian style – and he wanted his furniture to inspire a warmth feeling. This certainly is reflected in this pleasing curving design. One of Malmsten#8217;s main achievements was his set up of 2 design schools and also to establish co-operative furniture making workshops. These continue to produce the furniture manufactured under his name today. Maker: O.H. Sjögren Tranås, Sweden
