Armchair designed in 1934, textile designed in the late 1920’s. “Mirakel”, the pattern shown on this Armchair, is one of Frank’s first designs from the late 1920´s. It displays sprightly flowers in vibrant colors and reflects the designer’s early influences. Frank admired William Morris, founder of the British Arts and Crafts Movement. Frank, who designed many oversized patterns, probably followed Morris’s advice not to be “afraid of large patterns; if properly designed they are more restful to the eye than small ones.” In 1938, Frank and Ericson presented an exhibition of Morris’s textile designs and wallpapers at Svenskt Tenn. Their goal was to lay the foundation for Frank’s textile designs… Manufacturer: Svenskt Tenn, Stockholm, Sweden.
